    I have a Dish Network DVR that i got after Nov 2009 when the time comes to replace the Smart cards do i have to put a new card or does it update itself

  7. @HugoDBtx Well believe it or not people do need instructional videos like this. I work for directv not dish, and when I get a customer to Power on the directv receiver I ask them to press the power button, they cant find it, however when I then say “Please press the black, PWR button.” Then they know where it is. Then people call it with a black screen, that goes away when I ask em to turn on the tv.. it happens lol

    I work for Dish network as a field service specialist (installation technician)

    Dish can be a VERY shady company. so be aware of what your getting into, contracts hide A LOT.

    No you cant use smart cards with other receivers.

    So buy pc compatible F.T.A. receivers that don’t use them. Research F.T.A. receivers and Dish network.

    After that the smart card trick is still useless.

    You still get dish net tv channels
